On the Rebound!

May 6, 2010
Yes, after the depressing mood in the last few months. THe family is figuratively and literally on a Rebound! Nanay has been walking daily at Bukit Timah Hill. On weekedays, she and Tatay walks along the bike trail. On Saturdays we (Zarah, Nanay, Tatay & I) walk along the main road towards the Quarry Site. The Quarry site is now teeming with flora and fauna (eagles, birds, turtles, koi, 3 blue birds & monkeys). My brother has started working and Nanay has enough energy to cook for the family once again.
I also bought a Trampoline for Nanay and Zarah. According to Cynthia Llantada a Stage 3 BReast Cancer Survivor, rebounding on a trampoline is highly beneficial for cancer patients. As part of her breast cancer battle plan, she rebounds for 5 minutes every hour during the day. Nanay is keen to follow Cynthia’s BReast Cancer Plan to a T— thats why we are really looking forward to see Dr. Lee next week. He is an endocrinologist who is a strong proponent of Natural Theraphies. He even suggested that I book Nanay to THe Farm at San Benito–but its Php 95,000 per week/per person. I cannot afford it. We will just work together as a family to ensure Nanay follows her natural regimen with enough support from all of us.
We tried the trampoline for Zarah first. She is also always constipated. However, everytime she rebounds on the trampoline, she would always want to poo after 5-10 minutes. So, I thought, I should probably rebound too.
At first I was hesistant to jump on it, for fear of falling dow. I tried it at 6am this morning, within 5 minutes I was perspiring as if I have done a 30 minute run. It was easy on the joints too. Nanay’s mood has been quite consistently chirpy for the last few days, however am not sure if it is the daily walks or the rebounding or a combination of both that did the trick. For whatever it is worth, I am quite happy that Nanay is happy at least to a point, I can see her smile more often than she ever did before cancer.
Truly healing should be about knowing the cause of the illness then removing the cause of the illness rather than just addressing the symptom. Some say, that the results of natural theraphies will only be evident in the long term, I think otherwise, I can immediately see the rewards of natural theraphy to Nanay’s well being. Why would I let her struggle with chemo and radiation if this works well for her?
According to one of the other benefits of rebounding are the following:
It increases the capacity for breathing.
It circulates more
oxygen to the tissues.
It helps combat
It helps normalize your
blood pressure.
It helps prevent
cardiovascular disease.
It increases the activity of the red bone marrow in the production of red blood cells.
It aids
lymphatic circulation, as well as blood flow in the veins of the circulatory system.
It lowers elevated cholesterol and
triglyceride levels.
It stimulates the metabolism, thereby reducing the likelihood of obesity.
It tones up the glandular system, especially the thyroid to increase its output.
It improves coordination throughout the body.
It promotes increased muscle fiber tone.
It offers relief from neck and back pains, headaches, and other pain caused by lack of exercise.
It enhances
digestion and elimination processes.
It allows for easier relaxation and
It results in a better mental performance, with
sharper learning processes.
It relieves fatigue and menstrual discomfort for women.
It minimizes the number of
colds, allergies, digestive disturbances, and abdominal problems.
It tends to slow down aging.
This was a great way to while away the time while waiting for her test results. The Urinary Estrogen Metabolites test kit was sent to AUstralia. For her blood tests, we were adviced to go to Innovative Labs @ Camden Medical Center (DHEA/Thyroid/Cortisol levels). We will see Dr. Lee of Integrated Medicine on Wednesday Morning. Cant wait to know the results and what other supplements Nanay needs to take
– I3C/DIM/Myomin?
– more Melatonin?
– Thyroid (iodine – kelp supplements)
– CoQ10?
-Enyzme Theraphy– to address her metabolism?
Roselind of Vernicia Clinic also called this morning, asking how Nanay is, I told her that Nanay has been quite chirpy during the last few weeks and followed her advice to have early morning walks for her Chlorophyll dose. (Plants emit chlorophyll early in the morning while the sun is coming out).
So much so when, we were at an ORganic Store this evening, Nanay said she does not need Chlorella (a chlorophyll supplement), since she has been walking daily.
We purchase some grains (starches that has lower glyclemic index)– meaning lower rate of converting starch to sugar (does raising insulin level and also feeding cancer cells- cancer cells love sugar!).
The grains we purchased are Quinoa, Amaranth and Bulbur. We also purchased a bottle of Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (organic, made in the Philippines).
