Diagnosis 9 – Estrogen Metabolism towards 16OH (bad!)

May 15, 2010
Turned out that Nanay is metabolizing estrogen towards the 16OH pathway (the bad estrogen metabolite). So her Doctor prescribed a special formula of I3C, DIM, Cat’s Claw, Reservatol and a few other herbs (to support her liver and kidney). All these herbs/supplements in 1 single capsule. He also gave my mother another form of Calcium ( from Calcium D-Glucarate).
The doctor said, the idea is not to remove estrogen at all (as u said we need estrogen), but to support the liver/kidneys so that estrogen is metabolized towards the better metabolite (2OH) rather than 16OH.
2OH metabolites
– have been named “good estrogen” and thought to be cancer protective.
16OH metabolites
– have been named the “bad estrogen” and thought to be the agressive type of estrogen and is carcinogenic.
In this test, what we are really looking for is the ratio   of 2OH to 16OH metabolite.
A reatio of 2OH to 116OH greater than 2.0 is desirable.
A ratio less than 2.0 may increase the risk of cancer (or cancer recurrence)
Nanay’s rest results showed that her 2/16 OH ratio is 0.55 which is way below 2.0 (desirable)
2 OH (protective) =2.09 (Range 0.09-5.82 ug/gCR)
16 OH (proliferative) = 3.77 (range 0.06-5.00 ug/gCR)
2/16 OH Ratio = 0.55 (Range 0.50 – 8.00 ug/gCR)

    Updates:
Instead of the following: I3C, DIM, Cat’s Claw, Reservatol and a few other herbs (to support her liver and kidney). All these herbs/supplements in 1 single capsule. He also gave my mother another form of Calcium ( from Calcium D-Glucarate).

Nanay is now taking the following

Hormone Balance Formula and Women’s Wellness Powder and Liver/Gallbladder Tea from NaturesSpices… we decided this is much better than all of the above..

She is also now taking Olive Leaf Tea made based on instructions from Dr. Morton Walker’s book “Olive Leaf Extract”…

Olive Leaf have anti parasitic, anti-fungal and anti bacterial properties and also contain a natural form of calcium to help metabolise the excess estrogen.

in summary, for the metabolism of excess estrogen and its bad metabolites:
12 capsules of Women’s Wellness Powder
    4 capsules of Hormone Balance
3 cups of Olive Leaf Tea

    In addition to the following:
8 LBB capsules (to train the colon muscles to function well again)
8 PWE capsules (dewormer, kidney and liver herbs
1 dropper full of PWE Part A – dewormer (potent)

    Hi Ms Lanie,

Based on the research, calcium supplement is bad as they link it to cancer but we need calcium to promote bone protection. can you recommend a capsule supplement that has a vitamid-d and calcium nutrients that is less/not harm our body? less side effects. I’m using gnc calcium supplement but I’m worried for the bad side effects.

    Thanks,
    xoxo
