Sorting Out Priorities
A message from our Maker:
4Gathering them together, He commanded them (A)not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for (B)what the Father had promised, "Which," He said, "you heard of from Me;
8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."
Our Lord told the disciples the work they were to do. The apostles met together at Jerusalem; Christ having ordered them not to depart thence, but to wait for the pouring out of the Holy Spirit. This would be a baptism by the Holy Ghost, giving them power to work miracles, and enlightening and sanctifying their souls. This confirms the Divine promise, and encourages us to depend upon it, that we have heard it from Christ; for in Him all the promises of God are yea and amen.
He also said that if there is misunderstanding in your family or if you cannot find it in your heart to forgive — make your heart right with God first, and then make your heart right with the person you are angry with – (after making yourself right with God—it will be much much easier). He also taught us, what to do, when we our overwhelmed, not knowing what to do first. He said “cast all your burdens upon me, and I will give you rest”. When the demands of everyday life seems too great, we just say “Yes, Lord!, whatever Your will is—and I will follow”—then He is free to do what He really needs to do for us. A friend of mine, told me “ Ate—set your priorities—di pwedeng lahat first priority! Dapat isa-isa lang.” I decided—You are my first priority Lord, my family second—then everyone else.
They say–that striking a balance between family and career is like juggling 2 balls. 1 ball (your family) is made of glass the other 1 is made of rubber (your career).
If you drop the rubber ball, it will bounce back. But if you drop the glass ball it will break. Take care of your family! Its the only one you’ve got ^_^ here on earth! (and yes, of course your Church is also your family here on earth)
Thank you Lord for the pouring out of the Holy Spirit. You made our household much more peaceful. You made our hearts softer and accepting of Your Word. Thank You Lord for the realization, that our Jerusalem is the sail of our ship. Our ship cannot go out to the ocean of mission work if our sail is not fixed. However, Lord for all other things that still need fixing, we lift them up to You Lord. Kayo na po ang bahala. I will hold on to your promise, that you will keep my household safe, when I sail the oceans of mission work. In Jesus name, AMEN!
