Preparing for the full Gerson Therapy

May 3, 2011

Just realized that Gerson Therapy is not as easy as I thought it was. I remember Danny Menesses (of http://www.pbcn.org, who taught us the 42 day modified Gerson/Breuss/Kelly therapy, during a 5 day health retreat last year), saying he would have adapted the full Gerson Therapy if he have more help, but it is just him and a nurse practitioner and 3 volunteers, so he chose Breuss Protocol instead with the addition of turmeric juice, but still kept the most important part of Gerson Therapy – the coffee enema.

It seems Nanay and I would need at least part-time household help for the preparation of juices every hour and also her coffee enemas which would have to be taken 4-5 times a day during the first 10 months.

A few observations:
1.) The updated Gerson Therapy also adapted Kelley’s Enzyme Therapy (Kelley took raw liver as well, Okra (for its pectin) and pancreatic enzyme supplementation as part of his protocol). Since most sources of raw liver are now contaminated as well, and its quite hard to eat liver– specially if it is raw! yuck! They have come out with Liver powder supplementation and also Ox Bile supplementation.

2.) Based on Nanay’s blood tests, she have increased platelet count, which is an indication of iron deficiency anemia. However, her oncologist said it was normal. This apparently, is common to most Gerson patients or anyone who is on vegetable/fruit diet which is low on protein. So, Gerson added B12 supplementation with crude liver extract to address his patients increased platelet count (anemia). We have to find a Gerson practitioner who will administer Nanay’s B12/Liver extract injections everyday, as well as the once in a while B17 injections. B12 supplementation was also prescribed by her endocrinologist.

3.) Nanay’s Organic Acid test shows that she have defiecient levels of organic acids, which are also common to Gerson patients or people on vegetable/fruit based diet.. thus the addition of Niacin (B3), which will help her to produce the necessary organic acids she needs. Niacin (B3) was also prescribed by her endocrinologist.

4.) Lugol’s Iodine apparently is part of Gerson’s protocol as he knew that Flouridated/Chlorinated water supplies, affect the thyroid system.

5.) his green juices are made up of cruciferous vegetables (e.g. Kale), which are high in I3C. Her endocrinologist also prescribed her I3C/DIM supplementation.

6.) carrots have natural anti-fungal substances (there are theories that says Cancer is actually caused by fungi)
