Doctor’s Advice (part humuor/part truth)
To women, Jesus would probably say,
“Stop compensating for the men in your life!”
Yes, we have to stop compensating. If you want to work in the corporate world, work because you want to, not because you need to compensate for your lazy and dead beat husband. Yes, easy for me to say, as I am a single mother. But, this is something that I guess needs to be communicated to all women struggling with their health. just stop compensating!
Women are just as important or valued as men. They are honored and rewarded for their work as highly as men are for their work.
Gal. 3:28; I Pet. 3:7; Prov. 31:10-31
My mother is probably a product of the Feminist movement. Women who opposed the status quo in the 70’s saying they want to have equality with all men and thus- wants the same work that “traditionally” (at least during their time is relegated to men only. Fast Forward 2011, most women her age have cancer! Can we really do it all? Can we really take care of our children, our homes, our community and our work– all at the same time? Can we really have it all? If we can really have it all? Does– “ALL” mean getting the diseases as well?
This time around, I believe the mind set should be changed, even if women stay at home, it should be valued in the same way as work outside the home. And this value, is something that women have to realize themselves without the acknowledgement of the people around her. It has to be a self- acknowledgement to our value as women, whether or not we earn the money.
God Values People for Their Service, not Their Authority. However, the fact men and women are equally valued does not mean God expects them to do the same work.
Our service as women is to our children, our husbands (if you have one) and to our community (neighbors, Church & country). All this are not rewarded monetarily, but is just as important as paid jobs. Not only are we doing the work designed for men, but we are also assuming we can be all and do all and know all. This is not God’s design for our lives.
the Woman’s Role as Homemaker Is of Great Value.God honors woman in this role, and she ought to be honored by men.
1 Timothy 5:14; Titus 2:5; Psalm 113:9; Proverbs 31:10-31; 7:11,12
Women Have a Definite Responsibility in teaching.
They may teach women or children.
Titus 2:3,4; Proverbs 31:1; 1:8; 2 Timothy 1:5
They may even impart truth to men in a limited capacity.
Acts 18:26; 2:17; 21:9; John 4:28-30,39,42
This Biblical Truths are not imparted to us to CONTROL US, but TO PROTECT US! Too bad, we are too entrenched in the way things are at the moment
