Coffee substitute: Olive Leaf Tea with Molasses
One of the hardest to kick is the coffee habit… At least thats the case for me.
2 weeks ago we went to Eden Health Store to buy Z’ supplement (Floradix).. I saw a few bags of Olive Leaf and bought one. The Barefoot Herbalist suggests buying the Olive Leaf book for 7usd. Was lucky enough to find onr copy at the local library though.
Olive leaf is recommended for mouth sores or canker sores which can be due to all types of herpes virus ( both the STD type of virus and non- STd types which are trigerred when someones immune system is very low.
She boiled the leaves in a slow cooker as per instructions in the Olive Leaf book, and was pleasantly surprised that if you add blackstrap molasses, it tastes like the Nescafe 3 in 1 coffee ( her favorite).
I tried it too and it tastes really nice ( no herby aftertaste).
Now, she is considering to plant an Olive Tree at Bukit timah nature reserve ( if only for the leaves).
She also asked me to share this findings on this blog. 🙂
