Diagnosis

IDC Stage 2BB ER+ /PR- Her2+++
2OH/16OH Ratio = 0.55x

Please refer to diagnosis below:

Dec 29, 2009 – Nanay accidentally felt the lump on her right breast

Jan 2, 2010 – Breast Ultrasound ordered by General Practitioner.  Ultrasound showed

1.) that there are 5 solid nodules on the right breast. 1 out of 5 is 31mm in diameter with well-defined but very irregular margins and increased vascularity (this is what later on, will be found as cancerous).

2.) There are also 7 cysts on the left breast (all benign)

3.) One of her right axillary lymph node is mildly enlarged.

Jan 15, 2010 Mammogram findings in the right breast can be classified as BIRADS 5 category. There is also suggestion of ipsilateral axillary node involvement.

Biopsy was immediately ordered by the Surgeon on the same day.

Diagnosis: Invasive and ductal carcinoma in-situ

Feb 8, 2010 Bilateral mastectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy and lymph node removal was conducted.

Diagnosis: Stage 2B

(a) Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC, Grade 3, 30mm)

(b) ER+ (estrogen receptor positive) and PR – (progesterone receptor negative)
(c) all resection margins free of malignancy (clear margins)

(d) Her2+ positive

ER+ means that Nanay’s cancer cells has Estrogen Receptors, see diagram below:

A= estrogen receptors (acts like glue– to which estrogen sticks to)
B = estrogen
C= estrogen helper proteins
D= cell nucleus
E= DNA(genetic material inside the nucleus)

Her2+++ means my mother is overexpressing Her2 receptors. see diagram below.

Her2 receptors tells cells to multiply and grow. Too much Her2, means there are too many of it telling cells to multiply and grow.

However, it is known that there are billions of cancer lines or factors that makes the cancer cells grow, multiply and invate the tissues. As of today, standard operating procedures in the conventional world, stops at the Estrogen Receptors and Her2 receptors. There are no standard tests yet, to measure or find out the other cancer lines.

Complimentary Diagnostic Tests (non-standard)

April 15, 2010. Urinary Estrogen Metabolite Test shows that

2OH/16OH Ratio = 0.55 (way below the ideal ratio of 2.0)
Nanay have too much of the bad estrogen metabolite (16OH) as oppose to 2OH — which is considered the good estrogen metabolite. She is now taking DIM to help her metabolise estrogen towards the better estrogen (2OH).

Yes, there is good/bad estrogen in the same way there is good/bad cholesterol and good/bad bacteria.

The big gap in the diagnosis of breast cancer and all types of cancer

  • how will you know which type of proteins are helping estrogen to grow? (C= estrogen helper estrogens)

April 2011 and beyond

I am not going to be complacent and be part of those sob stories about people going alternative and died for unknown reasons. There are new technologies and non-invasive diagnostic tests that has been accepted by mainstream medicine in the last few years (beginning 2005).

April 25, 2011 – Urinary Estrogen Metabolite test, shows that her 2OH/16OH decreased from 0.55 to 0.52. but her 16OH levels had also gone down. Suspects Liver detoxification issue,  so I requested for a Functional Liver Detoxification Profile Test (FLDP).

April 28, 2011  All Cancer Tumour Markers Normal, Liver Function Tests normal, Cholesterol levels normal. Refused Xray and Mammogram.

Breast Ultrasound results

1.  Right breast outline shows no focal areas of abnormal echogenicity. (great!)

2. The left breast outline shows multiple (9) solid and areas of complex echogenicity. The largest of these measures 6.7mm is just above the areola and appears solid. These lesions should be followed up.

Pelvic Ultrasound

1. small uterine fibroid (measuring 3.9×2.5×1.7cm)

2. right ovary not visualised. left ovary shows no abnormality

3. Endometrial thickness of 3.5mm (this is normal thickness for a post-menopausal woman)

May 1, 2011 Phase 1 Liver Detoxification is faster than Phase 2 Liver Detoxification, Dr. Lee suspects Leaky Gut Syndrome as a cause. Intestinal Permeability Test scheduled for 6 June 2011. Nanay has been on partial Gerson Therapy since May 2, 2011 (juices and coffee enema).

May 30, 2011 Breast U/S with Elastography- showed that 2 solid nodules on left breast are benign (Birads 3 Category). No need for biopsy but will need to be monitored every 3-6 months. The nodules are also smaller compared to the scan last month (24 April)

June 2, 2011
NED- No evidence of disease or progression.

Ultrasound of the whole abdomen
– shows that Liver, spleen, pancreas and kidney are normal. Uterine fibroid shrinked by a few milimeters. Trans vaginal ultrasound is adviced to monitor uterine fibroid and the ovaries.
Cardio Pulmonary exam
Lungs are clear. Blood pressure normal. Hardening of the arteries in the heart was noticed, but Cardio Pulmonary doctor did not call this out as something that must be followed-up.

June 3, 2011
Dental and Digestive Health
Decayed Teeth and TMJ Malocclusion diagnosed by Dentist. Oral bacteria from decaying teeth is thought to be the same bacteria that can cause hardening of arteries. Will continue dental clean-up and monitor her heart as well. TMJ Malocclusion can be the cause of vertigo and digestive disorders (need to rule this out through diagnostic tests for stomach motility disorders, including Digestive Stool Analysis and Intestinal Permaebility Test or even Barium Xray Enema). Trying to find out which diagnostic test will be less invasive and more accurate.

Note:Will also test Vit D3 levels as well as Iodine defficiency.

I still believe that patients, conventional doctors and alternative/complimentary medicine practitioners can still find a common ground to start talking about real cure and be true to the Hippocratic oath , despite the myriad of things that we have to fix and tag as urgent.

    Hi there! I am enjoying reading your blog! I have just been diagnosed with Invasive Lobular carcinoma stage 2B. I am looking into Gerson therapy as well as maiking my own lypospherical vitamin c. I was wondering how your mother is doing now? I see you mentioned she was on modified gerson, wondering what kind? I also had a tooth infection and suspect fungus etc and looking into that connection!

      Hi joelle, she is still in remission, modified in the sense that we are using local greens instead of the standard gerson greens. The whole family are also into 30 day parasite program every 90 days. You have to address that tooth infection by all means, but dont settle for root canal treatment or fillings… Visit ask barefoot herbalist at curezone.com….for herbs for teeth issues… Othereise get it extracted.. No tooth is worth szving if it affects ur overall health
